Vertical autoclaves are also known as top loading sterilizers that come in cylindrical shape. The vertical autoclaves are widely used in hospitals, microbiology laboratory, Operation Theater (OT) for sterilization. The working of vertical autoclave is easy to understand. To open the lid a radial locking mechanism is fitted at top of the lid and a foot pedal is attached at the bottom. User has to press the pedal and lift the lid.
